Hear this: Rusko is back, here to roll the beats, if you haven't seen it already you won't be the same after.
'Happy and heavy' describes the vibe that carried Rusko from the first moments of dubstep to the biggest stages of the world; from a single, seminal bass wobble to a swath of sounds that can't be capped in a few syllables. He might be one of the guys who started it all but he's not going to leave it at that.
A staple of the global electronic underground, Rusko has packed shows & festivals across the world and not only the dance-dedicated: From Electric Daisy Carnival and Ultra Music Festival, to Coachella and Lollapalooza; Germany's Melt! to Australia's Good Vibrations back in the day.
In 2007 and 'dubstep' was an idea known to few Rusko and DJ/producer Caspa lit the spark with a dubstep-dedicated mix for London nightclub Fabric's influential compilation series Fabriclive. Rusko's 'Cockney Thug' was the centerpiece, evangelizing the bass 'wobble' that's since set the world on fire, a seminal moment the Guardian called one of the 50 key events in dance music history.
In 2010, Rusko's 'Cali Anthem' become the first dubstep tune listed on US radio, and 'O.M.G.!' was released on Mad Decent/Downtown. Containing tracks like the raucous 'Woo Boost' it cemented the young artist as one of the leaders of the new dance movement.
The DJS DJ Rusko is touring internationally again after overcoming sharp odds with a long, health battle. His latest release 'SONGS' shows the anthems aren't finished, next up a release with similarly ingenious rule-breakers, Cypress Hill. This will be a TOUCH BASS moment.
